What “stored in warehouse” actually means

LoloBuy’s FAQ defines stored in warehouse as the point at which an item has arrived at the LoloBuy warehouse and is ready for the user to visit My Warehouse and submit delivery to an overseas address. It does not mean the product is already on its way internationally. It marks the end of the domestic purchasing leg and the beginning of your warehouse decisions.

Before doing anything else, verify that the warehouse record belongs to the correct order. Check item number, seller, selected variation, quantity, photos, recorded weight, dimensions and service status. Domestic carrier delivery and warehouse storage can be separated by receiving, matching and inspection work. If tracking says delivered but no item appears, use the order enquiry rather than submitting an unrelated parcel.

Treat the storage clock as a deadline, not a benefit to maximise

The dedicated official storage article currently states a 180-day free storage period for items. It says LoloBuy may send a reminder if a parcel has not been submitted after 150 days and describes a CN¥1 per item-per-day fee after the free period, with disposal rights for overdue abandoned items. The same article gives unmatched or unusual parcels a shorter 30-day period because the warehouse may be unable to identify the user.

An older official purchase guide still says 90 days free storage. The conflict is visible in LoloBuy’s own help content. For planning, the dedicated storage policy is the more specific source, but the warehouse page and current terms should be checked before relying on 180 days. Policies can change, and a reminder email is not a substitute for your own deadline. Ship or resolve items well before the limit.

Inspection should happen early

Warehouse storage is valuable because the item is still in China and may still be returnable. Open standard photos promptly and compare them with your saved order. If an angle, label or measurement is missing, request extra evidence while the seller return period is open. The dedicated return rules use a 120-hour window for certain warehouse returns, far shorter than the storage period.

Do not confuse storage time with decision time. You may be allowed to keep an accepted item for months, but a defect or wrong variation may need action within days. Create two dates for every item: the return decision deadline and the ship-before date. The first protects seller options; the second protects against storage fees or disposal.

Know what happens to incoming packaging

LoloBuy’s stocking rules explain that original express cartons are not always retained. Original-box stocking can be unavailable when one order maps to multiple parcels, several items require handling, detailed-photo or split services are requested, the incoming carton is damaged, or an abnormal item needs checking. Fragile products and action figures may retain more packaging, while other express packing can be removed during ordinary storage.

If collector packaging matters, state that before purchase and confirm the warehouse service. “Original packaging” can mean the retail box, the seller’s protective material or the domestic express carton; they are not the same. Photograph or request confirmation of the layer you need. A product can arrive safely while a retail box is crushed, and the inspection rules may not treat box condition as a product defect.

Use warehouse measurements as planning inputs

The official warehouse article says stocked-item measurements refer to external length, width, height and weight after the product is packaged. These numbers are more useful than a seller estimate, but they still are not final parcel dimensions. Consolidation, removed boxes, void fill and reinforcement can change the shipment.

Keep a simple item table with stored weight, stored dimensions, packaging priority and restriction notes. Mark soft items that can compress, rigid items that set the carton size, and fragile items that need separation. This turns consolidation from guesswork into a packing plan. If the predicted box sits close to a volumetric or route threshold, a rehearsal or preview service may be worth more than a rough community estimate.

Consolidate with a purpose

The official guide encourages combining stored products into one parcel to save shipping costs. Savings usually come from paying fewer first-weight charges and using one outer package. But one parcel can also become heavy, volumetrically large or incompatible with a desired route. It can combine a restricted item with ordinary goods and remove otherwise available shipping options.

Build parcel groups by destination, route eligibility, shape, fragility, value and urgency. A high-value item may deserve its own insured parcel. A battery-powered product may need a special route. A bulky shoe box can dominate a clothing parcel’s volume. Consolidation is good when the combined packed result is better, not when the item count is merely higher.

Make irreversible service choices last

LoloBuy’s July 2026 announcement promotes packaging and shoe-box removal to reduce parcel weight and volume. It also warns that items whose original packaging is removed cannot be returned or exchanged. This rule creates a clear sequence: inspect, request extra photos, decide to keep, then optimise packaging.

Other services solve different problems. Moisture protection addresses weather exposure; corner protection and bubble film address impact; vacuum compression reduces soft-goods volume; a shoe support protects shape while adding billable weight. Select services from the product’s risk and the route’s billing method. Automatically choosing every service can erase consolidation savings, while removing every box can create avoidable damage.

Maintain a warehouse control sheet

For each item, record order number, warehouse item number, stock-in time, return deadline, free-storage deadline, stored weight, dimensions, QC result, unresolved questions, packaging instruction and planned parcel. Add a link to the official warehouse page rather than copying sensitive account data into a public spreadsheet. This control sheet is different from a product-discovery spreadsheet: it manages your real commitments.

Review it whenever a new item arrives. An unresolved return should never be accidentally selected into a parcel. An item waiting for a custom photo should not undergo package removal. A time-sensitive gift should not be held for a seller that has not dispatched. Small operational rules prevent expensive mistakes better than a large list of products.

Prepare the parcel handoff carefully

When a group is ready, select only those items, confirm the overseas address, inspect route restrictions and choose packaging services. Read the declaration and shipping notices. Save the submitted item list and estimated fee. Once packed, compare the final contents, weight and dimensions with the plan. If the warehouse substitutes a service or cannot follow an instruction, resolve it before payment or dispatch where possible.

After international dispatch, the warehouse’s role is largely complete and the carrier or customs process takes over. That boundary is why warehouse evidence matters. Save final parcel photos, declared contents, tracking number and service selections. If the parcel arrives damaged or incomplete, those records help show what left the warehouse.

The practical warehouse strategy

Use the warehouse to reduce uncertainty, not to postpone decisions. Inspect within a day or two, start returns within the earliest applicable window, keep accepted items only as long as consolidation has a clear benefit, and schedule shipment with buffer before the storage limit. Recheck live policy because the official help centre currently contains conflicting storage durations.

The warehouse is the one stage where product evidence, return options and shipping design meet. A careful shopper uses that stage to catch wrong items, preserve return rights and design a parcel that suits the destination. A careless shopper treats stored as finished and discovers the remaining decisions only when shipping is expensive or an important deadline has already passed.
